Photos from Madagascar

We are back in the UK for the next 5 weeks, visiting friends and family and taking a few days to do things that we can't do in Madagascar and indulging in British food (clotted cream, fresh berries...).

While we have a free minute before we hit the road for our whistle stop tour of England and Wales we thought it would be good to catch up on our last few weeks in Madagascar.

The Cessna 182 engine came back at the end of May and the plane has hardly been sat in the hanger since. In under 8 weeks the engine clocked up over 100 hours. With the normal monthly average being 30 hours a month, it was clear that our customers were happy to have the plane back and keen to make use of it. Air Madagascar also went on strike which meant a lot of flights, rescuing stranded missionaries and charity workers. Here are a few photos from recent weeks...

Terrible weather in Andapa, there is a mountain behind the trees!

Keeping busy on an overnight trip!

What a difference a day makes, Andapa the following morning

The point where the rainforest stops!

Taking the boat across the river in Manakara (the bridge was destroyed by a storm).
Cost of a ride, 5p per passenger.

One of the many waterfalls you only get to see from the sky.
